The emergence of global food chains, where the central square is now up to consumers and businesses, as well as new local and regional markets, opened up prospects for a number of producers, but also created new difficulties for many others, particularly the poorest and most marginalized. In many countries, migration to cities is reflected both by a feminization of the rural economy and growth of urban agriculture.

These factors undoubtedly herald major changes for agriculture and for farmers in developing countries: to help people cope with new developments including Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). In this context, it comes to identifying innovative tools to facilitate communication, adapted to a context where the target populations are totally or partially illiterate.
